A large state-run hotel on Shukri al-Quwatli Avenue in Abu Rummaneh, opened in the 1970s as Le Méridien Damascus, later run as the Dedeman and renamed Dama Rose under Syrian government management: a broad mid-rise block facing Mount Qasioun, with a business centre, Royal Club rooms and lounge, restaurants, a café and an outdoor pool, a short walk from Umayyad Square and the National Museum.
